Crystal Cleansing Guide:
3 Simple Rituals for Energy Renewal

Modern life is often filled with heavy energy. Cleansing your crystals is more than just physical maintenance — it is a ritual of dialogue with oneself. Through these simple steps, we restore the pure luster of the minerals while rediscovering a moment of quiet solitude.
01 Selenite Energy Reset

Selenite, as white as ice, possesses a powerful self-cleansing ability. Place your crystal bracelets or pendants gently on a Selenite plate. We recommend letting them rest for at least 4 hours to reset their energy.

02 Crystal Chip Bowl | Quartz Restoration

Prepare a simple glass or ceramic bowl filled with Clear Quartz chips. Burying your jewelry in these chips stabilizes energy and restores the stone's luster. This is ideal for daily maintenance — simply place your pieces in the bowl before sleep.

03 Natural Light Renewal

Return to the power of nature. Place your raw minerals or jewelry on a windowsill to receive the morning sun or gentle moonlight. 1–2 hours is recommended. Avoid direct, intense midday sunlight to prevent certain coloured crystals from fading.

FAQ

How often should I cleanse my crystals?

There is no fixed rule. A practical approach: cleanse whenever the piece feels dull, heavy, or has been worn through a particularly intense period. For daily-wear jewelry, a quick overnight rest on a selenite plate or in a quartz chip bowl once a week is a reasonable starting point.

Can all crystals be placed in sunlight?

No. Amethyst, rose quartz, citrine, smoky quartz, fluorite, and aquamarine can fade with prolonged sun exposure — their colour comes from iron impurities or trace minerals that UV light breaks down permanently. Clear quartz, black tourmaline, obsidian, black onyx, and most jaspers handle sunlight well. When in doubt, use moonlight or a selenite plate instead — neither will ever damage a stone.

Can I cleanse my crystals in water?

Some stones can, but not all. Hard stones like clear quartz, obsidian, and agate handle brief water rinsing. Softer or porous stones — including selenite, malachite, and moonstone — can be damaged by water. For SITU pieces, avoid full submersion to protect the sterling silver findings.

Does cleansing crystals actually do anything?

There is no scientific evidence that crystals accumulate or release energy. What cleansing rituals do provide is a moment of deliberate attention — slowing down, handling the object carefully, noticing its weight and surface. That pause itself has value, regardless of the metaphysical framing.

How do I physically clean crystal jewelry (not energetically)?

Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the stones and silver. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, chemical jewellery solutions, and prolonged water exposure. For more detail, see our full Jewelry Care guide.
